For a number of years the SAA has been seeking a site where a centre of excellence can be formed.
The centre would offer the opportunity to bring together flyers through competition or via our bursary route to improve their individual skills and or team skills for the home and international scene.
It would also offer the opportunity to
stage training weekends (and longer periods) and examiners to improve and update skills away from their normal club scene.

The proposed centre would incorporate

1 An indoor lecture area
2 Chalet overnight bunks
3 Toilets
4 Small Kitchen
5 Runway side shelter
6 Furnishings & fittings for the above
7 Storage for on site equipment

The local Stranrear model air club has recently lost its flying site at West Freugh
and currently they have no good flying facilities. This proposed site would offer the
opportunity to the local club members to share flying safely through out the season
